The Cskills Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Building Maintenance (Construction) is a versatile qualification aimed at multiple trades who undertake repair and refurbishment operations within the construction sector. This qualification can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.
This qualification will allow you to develop your knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment within the construction industry.
As the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Building Maintenance (Construction) has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment you will need to be employed to undertake this qualification.
Upon completion of this Level 2 building maintenance NVQ you will be eligible to obtain the CSCS Blue Skilled Workers Card, paving the way for further advancement.
What do I Need To Do To Obtain this L2 Building Maintenance & Refurbishment NVQ?
This qualification consists of four (4) mandatory units and a specified number of optional units (one (1) from Group A and either: two (2) from Groups B -F or one (1) from Group G). In order to achieve a pass delegates must successfully complete all four (4) Mandatory units and the specified number of Optional units. Your assessor will discuss this with you in detail to ensure that you focus your efforts in the correct areas and on the appropriate units.
Construction Site NVQ’s recognise the broad range of activities undertaken on a construction site and have been developed to reflect the different skills and responsibilities required accordingly. The qualification enables the learner, to recognise their skills, knowledge and understanding as well as demonstrating their competence in the workplace when undertaking maintenance and refurbishment in the construction industry.
You will need to provide a variety of evidence from your workplace to detail your proficiency and technical knowledge in the specified units.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements to take this Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Building Maintenance & Refurbishment (Construction). It can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.
Delegates must however be over the age of 16 and be in employment in the subject area.
On enrolment your allocated assessor will undertake an initial assessment with you to evaluate your skills and knowledge in the subject area. This will help identify any learning gaps and assist in the planning of your journey through the assessment process accordingly, ensuring you receive the necessary support throughout.
How This L2 Building Maintenance in Construction NVQ is Structured
The Cskills Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Building Maintenance and Refurbishment (Construction) conists of a number of units, each of which have a specified ‘credit value’.
Delegates must complete each of the mandatory units which are focussed on essential health and safety principles, and practices in the workplace, that trades people should be aware of when working on site.
Thereafter delegates are provided with an opportunity to complete the requisite number of optional units where you can focus on a special area of interest or possibly work you are currently undertaking.

Optional Qualification Units Group B-G:
Delegates must complete the required units to complete at least a minimum of TWO GROUPS from the Optional Groups B-G. If you choose two groups from Optional groups B – F, you have to achieve a minimum of two units from each group that you have chosen, if you choose Optional group G as one of the Optional groups, you choose one unit only from this group. Your assessor will discuss this with you directly and provide any required guidance.
